Graduation Celebrations in the Church

We had a very exciting weekend in the Church.  We had seven people graduate from college this weekend.  That’s a very large part of our Church, and most our Campus Ministry.  We cheered on our spiritual family in ceremonies, honored our grads in special and weird ways, enjoyed fun fellowship and rejoiced as one Body of Christ during this special time.  “If one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.” 1 Corinthians 12:26  They were greatly encouraged by the love and leis from the brothers and sisters.  Many of the Graduates we’re also encouraged by family flying in from off island to rejoice in their accomplishment.  We had visitors from Kona, Molokai, Oahu and all the way from California.  The Hawaii Community College held their commencement ceremony on Friday night and the University of Hawaii at Hilo held theirs the following morning.  Tanya, Felecia and Joanne graduated from the Community College, and Maile, Cheyanne, Loaa and Marley graduated from the University.   We held a grad party for all on Saturday afternoon.  We had some awesome food, and better fellowship, and hilarious skits to showcase each of our grad’s unique personalities.
